Set of 4 porcelain serving dishes made by Meito, in Japan during the occupation by the Allies (between 1945 and 1952). The pieces have a pattern of red, yellow and blue flowers with foliage. They are highlighted with gilding.
The set includes:
- A large oval plate is 15.75 inches (40 cm) in length and 11.25 (28.5 cm) in width;
- A large serving dish with lid measuring 11.5 inches (29.25 cm) from handle to handle and 9.35 inches (24cm) in diameter; the dish is 3.75 inches high (9.5 cm) and ,with the
lid, about it has about 6 (15 cm)
- A small dish with lid that measures 5.75 inches (14.5 cm) from handle to handle and 5.5 inches (13.5 cm) in diameter; it is 2.5 inches high without the lid (6.25cm) and with the
lid, it has about 3.5 (9 cm)
- A sauce boat with trivet that is 8 inches (20 cm) in diameter; the bowl measures from handle to handle 7 inches (18 cm) and 3 inches (7.5 cm) in height.
The parts are in very good condition; the gilding is erased in some places, for example on one of the handles of the large covered dish
